My Fall 2022 internship at PROMETRIKA provided me with valuable hands-on experience and gave me a clear notion of what knowledge-areas I should prioritize in my future education. Each day brought different circumstances and I had the opportunity to make decisions on my own and learn from both my successes and failures. I have developed many skills and now have a much greater understanding of what to expect after graduate school.
My internship has given me the opportunity to see so much more about the Clinical Operations field than I am able to learn in the classroom. I worked on ‘Vendor Management Project’ where I enhanced the existing Clinical Vendor Management Tracker by selecting and qualifying vendors upon requirement, created a Vendor Satisfaction Survey and developed a Report Card for each vendor. Based on the clinical team’s experience, this card offers an automated evaluation using vendor survey data from Preferred Vendor Analysis. I also assisted in eTMF Filing, Informed Consent Form, Annotated Monitoring Visit Report Tool and, Safety Case Processing Manual development. I had the opportunity to work cross-functionally with Data Management by contributing to Rave Support by processing User Access Request tickets. Additionally, I benefited from participating in the training programs, DCT conferences and community service sessions.
It was a worthwhile experience and I feel that it has prepared me well for my professional career. The polite, encouraging work environment and the staff’s dedication to giving exceptional service, among other things, have pushed me to do better every day throughout my internship. The fact that even an intern’s voice is heard and ideas valued is one of the best aspects about PROMETRIKA. I am grateful for the connections I made, as I worked with wonderful people who have given me references and points of contact, enabling potential opportunities beyond my internship and laying the foundation for a promising career. As I continue my education, I can only imagine that this experience will resonate with me and provide me with fresh possibilities for my future.
